Somehow that time of year has come round again quicker than we can actually blink, and Pantone have released their colour of the year again! Last year we saw the incredibly bright Ultra Violet be crowned the winner, and whilst potentially not as popular as we anticipated, we definitely have seen rooms that have been inspired by this colour palette. Purple is such a luxurious colour that can be very intense, so it has to be used in the right way otherwise it can be very overpowering.
2019 is the year of ‘Living Coral’. Pantone describes the colour as: ‘Representing the fusion of modern life, PANTONE Living Coral is a nurturing colour that appears in our natural surroundings and at the same time, displays a lively presence within social media.’
A more vibrant version of a blush pink, Living Coral is a beautiful combination of orange and pink which has an incredible warm hue that makes a room feel so comfortable and inviting. Whilst Living Coral is not necessarily a colour that you would expect to see in kitchens, we actually think that it could be the pop of colour that your kitchen needs. We’re not expecting to see whole rooms painted in this vibrant colour, but we do think that accessories or potentially appliances finished in coral will add beautiful dimension to the room.
We’re definitely going to be taking some inspiration from this colour in the new year for our kitchen designs, and we think that we’ll see more and more customers injecting colour into their kitchens!
