Every Naked Kitchens project begins with an uncompromising choice of materials. From carefully selected timbers and custom-specified veneers to expertly engineered joinery and meticulously perfected finishes, each element is chosen not for convenience or cost, but for its contribution to beauty, longevity and performance. This is the foundation of every kitchen we create.
Solid timber is at the heart of our kitchens, from Shaker frames and worktops to drawer boxes. We work primarily with four timbers: white oak, American black walnut, beech and tulipwood. Each is chosen for its particular qualities, from the deep rich colour and stunning grain of walnut to the smooth painted finishes achieved with beech and tulipwood.
Why we’re different: Our commitment to quality begins with the timber itself. We source only the highest grades of timber, selecting quality over price - a distinction that underpins every kitchen we make.

At Naked, we care just as much about what’s hidden as what’s on show. From cabinet carcasses to doors, we choose the highest-grade material for every application, prioritising durability, finish and long-term performance. All our veneered carcasses are made from birch ply.
Why we’re different: Panel material is an easy place to cut corners because it's not always obvious once the kitchen has been installed. We choose our panel for quality, not price, so it’s one less thing you never need to worry about.

Veneer is real timber, sliced directly from the log and bonded to a core material. We choose crown-cut veneer for its distinctive arched grain, then book-match each leaf, so the pattern mirrors seamlessly across every join. Every oak and walnut veneer we use is made to our own custom specification and selected for every project.
Most veneers used in kitchens are supplied to a standard industry grade. Our veneers are produced to a custom grade specified exclusively for Naked, ensuring a consistently higher standard of grain, character and finish across every project.

Our two-part water-based paint process took over a decade to perfect. Every painted door and cabinet travels 80 metres through our state-of-the-art spray line. Firstly our team carefully prepares the panels ready for their journey. The panels are coated by four multi directional spray guns, before carrying on their journey through a series of infrared, hot air and UV. This takes around 35 minutes and cures the coating. The result is exceptionally durable painted cabinetry and a finish we’re confident enough to protect with a lifetime guarantee.
Why we’re different: Much of the industry still uses solvent-based paint, while some doors are wrapped in PVC rather than painted at all. Every Naked door is properly finished in our own hangars using our two-part water-based paint devised specifically for our spray line creating a durable finish designed to stand the test of time.

Every drawer box we make is crafted from solid timber using traditional dovetail joints. We use a tongue-and-groove construction for our cabinets; the panels slot into one another before any fixings are added. It takes longer to build this way, but the result is strong, carefully constructed cabinetry made to last.
Why we’re different: we have developed and evolved our construction method over many years. Our tongue-and-groove panels interlock without dowels or glue, creating incredibly robust cabinetry built for life.

You can’t tell how durable the paint finish is on a door just by looking at it. So we test ours the hard way: with a hammer. The door dents, like any door would...... However, the paint stays firmly in place.
Why we’re different: we test our finishes way beyond the demands of everyday use, so you can be confident they’re made to last.

Naked Kitchens began with manufacturing solid timber worktops over 20 years ago, and we still make them in our Norfolk workshop today. Each worktop is constructed from carefully selected high grade timber ensuring the consistency of grain across the board. Alongside timber, we offer a wide range of materials both man-made and naturally occurring such as marble, porcelain, and low silica quartz worktops. We also work with patinated metals such as brass and copper which create distinctive splashbacks and dramatic backdrops for bars and larders.

We’re proud to offer a lifetime guarantee, backed by the exceptional quality of our cabinetry and the rigorous product testing behind every kitchen we make.
Truly “Built for Life”.
