Unstructured Elegance: Inside the new Naked Designs Chelsea showroom

Take a peek behind the scenes of our new 'whole home' showroom – with head of design Jayne Everett…

It had to look very Naked in its style and feel – but also immediately show people: wow, this is something more.” – Jayne Everett, Founder and Head of Design

Naked Kitchens has never really been “just kitchens” – and now, with our new Naked Designs showroom in Chelsea, we’re showing the world exactly what that means. Step next door to our Fulham Road kitchen showroom and you’ll find a whole new space devoted to the rest of the home: utilities, dressing rooms, walk-in wardrobes, boot rooms and more.

And just as important: it’s all part of one journey. One designer will guide you through the whole home – not kitchens here and wardrobes there – so you can browse, dream and plan without losing the thread.

Founder and head of design Jayne Everett takes us behind the scenes of her latest creation and explains the thinking behind Naked Designs…

At the heart of the new showroom is what Jayne calls “unstructured elegance”: spaces that are relaxed, warm, and sophisticated – never stark or clinical. The look is still very Naked, but because the spaces are less rigidly defined than typical kitchens, it’s also a little looser, designed to blend seamlessly into real life.

“It’s about elegance without formality,” Jayne explains. “We want people to walk in and immediately see how easily this ethos can carry through their whole house.”

Flow seamlessly from kitchen to every other room

The new showroom isn’t a bolt-on – it’s designed to feel like a natural continuation of our kitchen showroom. “I didn’t want anyone to feel they were stepping into a different world,” Jayne says. “It needed to feel like one journey.”

The two spaces are now linked by a generous opening, with displays carefully arranged so visitors naturally flow from one to the other. The result is a showroom that feels both bigger and more cohesive – a place to explore ideas without boundaries or limitations.

See how design works in real life

Inside, you’ll discover wardrobes, dressing rooms, a full utility/boot room, and freestanding furniture. But this is no static set of showpieces: each area tells a story about how we actually live.

“With wardrobes and dressing rooms, you’re helping people imagine real, everyday life. The little practical things that add up to feeling happier in your home and routine,” Jayne explains. “Where the watches, the jumpers, the shoes will go…. You may not need the whole walk-in wardrobe, but you might take inspiration from the way we’ve done the shoe racks, or the fitted drawers, or the dressing table.”

It’s about showing possibilities – how fitted joinery and standalone pieces can be combined, adapted and made to measure for any home, with no limitations on how far the Naked ethos can go.

New designs and timeless colours

The showroom also launches several new design elements. At the heart is Onslow (below), a new door style with timeless panel detailing that works just as well in kitchens as in bedrooms.

Alongside it are beautifully-textured reeded Shaker doors, and three new warm neutral paint shades inspired by our home in Norfolk…

  • Felbrigg Stone – a soft grey-beige echoing the Yorkstone floors at Felbrigg Hall.
  • Norfolk Dunes – a warm neutral drawn from the sandbanks of the coast.
  • Holt Latte – a deeper, cosier tone inspired by the town of Holt’s coffee culture.

Used alone or combined tonally, these colours embody that concept of unstructured elegance: relaxed, warm, sophisticated, but never stark. Timber also plays a starring role, with oak and walnut finishes adding depth and natural texture.

Find your own style – with no limitations

So what should visitors expect? “I’d like people to feel reassured and relieved,” Jayne says. “Relieved that they don’t need to go to five different specialists. We can carry the Naked ethos throughout the whole house. And reassured, because everything is designed and built with the same Naked quality as our kitchens.”

Rather than cookie-cutter displays, the showroom is made up of inspirational zones where you can browse, dream, and discuss ideas with a single designer. The idea is not to show inflexible, finished rooms, but to spark ideas and let clients pick out details that fit their own home and lifestyle.

Explore Chelsea’s new design destination

By expanding into the neighbouring unit, Naked has created a true design destination in Chelsea. “It makes us part of a neighbourhood alongside the likes of Colefax & Fowler, Barnbury, Mandarin Stone and others,” says Jayne. “We’re proud to be there as an independent, creative, family business – bringing something fresh to the area.”

The showroom – along with the new offices nearby – will also serve as a base for designers and architects to bring their clients, explore ideas and host one-to-one sessions with plans and samples.

“It’s all about making people’s lives easier,” Jayne says. “Not just easy as in convenient, but easy because it’s the best solution – thoughtful, beautiful, and brilliantly made.”

Pop in – and be inspired!

Whether you’ve got ten minutes or an afternoon, the new Naked Designs showroom is designed to inspire. Walk through, drink it all in, and then linger on the space that speaks to you. (And don’t forget to open the cupboards and drawers and take a peek – it’s the inside that proves the true quality – and discover that with Naked, there are no limitations...)

The Naked Designs showroom is now open at 118 Fulham Road, SW3 6HU.  Plan your visit here.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
