Freestanding Furniture Safety Guide
Naked Kitchens is committed to the safety of your home and family. Freestanding furniture can bring style and flexibility, but like any large item, it's essential to use it safely and responsibly. Please review these important safety tips before installing or using our products.
Anchor it
Please wall-fix all units, especially for homes with children. If you need more fixings or guidance on this, please contact us.
Prevent climbing
Never let children climb on doors, drawers or shelves.
Secure all tall furniture
Always anchor wardrobes, dressers, and bookcases to the wall using suitable fixings. Freestanding furniture is at risk of tipping, especially if loaded unevenly or climbed on.
Load wisely
Place heavier items in lower drawers or shelves to lower the centre of gravity and make units more stable.
Don't overload
Avoid exceeding the recommended weight limits for shelves and drawers. This prevents both tip-overs and damage.
Even surfaces
Ensure furniture sits flat and level. Use the provided adjustable feet as needed.
Move with care
If you need to relocate a unit, empty it first and always lift rather than drag.
Keep clear of sockets
Don't block power outlets with large items. Ensure cords and plugs are accessible and not pinched behind furniture.
Don't modify
Never drill or alter furniture to run cables unless you're sure it won't affect structural integrity or safety.
Integrated lighting
Only use manufacturer-approved lighting and follow all installation instructions. Check that any built-in lights have enough ventilation.
Keep away from heat sources
Maintain safe distance between furniture and radiators, heaters, open flames, or stoves.
Check for any defects with structure of furniture before and during use
